BRADENTON, Florida [NMT] -- The Bradenton Police Department reported the murder of a 16-year-old boy Saturday night.
A press release from BPD Captain William Fowler said on Saturday, December 13th, at approximately 11:12 p.m., Bradenton Police Officers responded to the area of the 700 block of 12th Avenue West after hearing multiple gun shots being fired.
When officers arrived, they located a male subject lying next to the roadway.
It was later determined that the victim, identified as Zory Jenkins, a Black male, 16 years old, of the 1600 Block of 14th Avenue East, Bradenton, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Due to the circumstances, Bradenton Police Department Detective James Curulla, and members of the Manatee County Homicide Investigative Unit took over the investigation.
There were no witnesses to the shooting.
BPD will not be releasing any further information at this time, the press release said.

There have now been fourteen homicides reported overall in Manatee County. Nine have now occurred in unincorporated Manatee County, three have occurred in the City of Bradenton and two have occurred in the City of Palmetto.
